Kayla is 19 years old and was born and raised in San Diego, CA. She is adamant that she will never leave this amazing city. Kayla graduated from Paul Mitchell The School in San Diego as a phase 2 student in early July of 2016. While in school she was awarded “Most Dangerous” three times. She was titled most dangerous because of her stay busy attitude, keeping her guests happy and wanting more. When she was a freshman in high school her mother took her to Paul Mitchell The School and that is when she fell in love with hairdressing and the passion for it grew. Kayla loves that she can do what makes her happy and makes people feel good about themselves for a career. Kayla is very strong in blonding such as balayage, highlights and all over blondes. Another strength is men’s and women’s haircuts, both long and short. She has taken multiple extension classes and is certified by Maven Beauty and Dibiase Hair Extensions. “I was a part of a class called believers weekend in which I learned to connect my spirituality with hairstyling. I was also able to earn my way into a once and a lifetime opportunity to go to an event called Caper where I received advanced education by the top educators in Paul Mitchell. This is my career and I’m in love.”
I was born and raised in San Diego. I have lived 3 miles from the beach my whole life (22 years) and I try to travel as much as possible. I always try to challenge myself into trying new things. I always wanted to be a hair stylist but before I was able to attend beauty school I had to go to college. I tried it for 3 years and I soon realized I wasn’t happy there and it wasn’t for me. I decided to leave college and go to a beauty school. Paul Mitchell was the first school I visited and I loved it. I was awarded “most dangerous” while attending and plan to keep up my reputation. I graduated in July 2017 and started working at Groom the Salon right after. I love blonding and doing fantasy colors. Being able to transform someone and make them feel empowered and confident in themselves is the reason I am a stylist. There is always something new in the beauty industry and every day I learn something new. I couldn’t be happier!!
